This long safari will give you the best highlights for Uganda from amazing game drives in the savannah park to encounter the Big 5, off the beaten tracks in the north and indigenous tribes to chimpanzees in Kibale National Park and encounter with the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable.

Tour Plan

Day 1 | Arrival in Entebbe.

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport meet your guide from Nsavi Safaris who will then transfer you to your hotel for an overnight.

Day 2 | Kidepo Valley National Park.

Day 3 | Nature walk, Game drive.

You will have a morning nature walk in the park. In the afternoon have game drive through the Narus Valley where you will have a chance to see elephants, zebras, giraffes, huge herds of buffalo, warthogs, duikers, Jackson’s Hartebeest, lions, leopards, cheetahs and hundreds of bird species. Other animals that may be seen roaming around include: Jackal Roan, Antelope, Waterbuck, Eland, Oribi, Klipspringer and Lions. The park also boasts of being the highest concentration of birds endemic to Uganda like: Ostrich, Kori bustard, vultures, pygmy falcon, hornbills, eagles and more.

Day 4 | Game drive & Community visit.

Have a morning game that will take you to see herds of buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras and hopefully some lions, leopard and the elusive cheetah.  This will also give you a chance to see varieties of birds as well.  Return to the lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon, go for a cultural tour in the Karamajong community. Here you will spend a wonderful evening with Karamajong people and have an insight of their way of life and beliefs.

Day 5 | Murchison Falls National Park.

Drive to the legendary Murchison Falls National Park. This Park is one of Uganda’s largest conservation areas and boast of 76 mammal species and 451 bird species that thrive in the open savannah and tropical forests. Enjoy an evening game drive in the park.

Day 6 | Delta boat ride, Game drive, Boat ride on River Nile.

Today, you will have a scheduled morning delta boat ride on the Albert Nile where you will have chance to search for the elusive shoebill stork, then proceed for a game drive. This is a beautiful drive across savannah, Borassus Palm Forest and grassland down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north.  Drive in the open African savanna in search for Lions, Leopard, Hyena, Buffalo, Elephant, Jackson Hartebeest. Oribi, Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, and enjoy spotting various Bird species. In the afternoon, go for a boat ride up the Nile to Murchison falls. Enjoy these spectacular falls where the Nile squeezes through a 7 meter gap. Thereafter, hike to the top of the falls.

Day 7 | Kibale Forest National Park.

Today you will drive to Kibale National Park along the way enjoy scenic views. This diverse forest boasts of 13 species of primates such as the Red colobus, grey checked  mangabey and Red tailed monkeys, Rare L’Hoest monkey as well as over 335 bird species with some rare and endemic to the Albertine region and varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. In the afternoon you will arrive at your accommodation

Day 8 | Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi swamp walk.

After breakfast you will go for Chimpanzee tracking and enjoy a wonderful forest experience with these habituated chimpanzees. These engaging apes are closest to human beings and are great to watch being playful both on ground and in the trees. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, go for a walk in the Bigodi wetland where you will have a chance to see different primates and bird species especially the Great Blue turaco popular in this area while getting to know the communities nearby and their projects.

Day 9 | Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, along the way drive by the kasenda crater lakes. The park is one of Uganda's most popular with scenic game drives with a wide variety of wild animals and over 600 bird species incorporating a wide variety of habitats that range from savanna to wetlands and lowland forest. Have an evening game drive in the park.

Day 10 | Game drive, Boat ride on Kazinga channel.

Have an Early Morning Game drive. There are over 100 mammal species that include Lions, Hippos, Buffaloes, Leopard, Spotted Hyena, Elephants and the elusive Giant Forest Hog in this park. Return to the Lodge. In the afternoon, you shall have a boat ride on Kazinga Channel where you will have a chance to see different animals coming to take water and a variety of bird species.

Day 11 | Ishasha sector & Game drive.

Drive to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth -Ishasha. This sector is notably known for its resident tree climbing Lions that are an exceptional attraction in the park. You will have a game drive in search of tree climbing Lions. Proceed to your accommodation.

Day 12 | Ishasha sector & Bwindi National Park.

You will have another game drive in Ishasha and thereafter proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park is home to the endangered mountain gorillas and hosts a variety of spectacular birds including 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemic bird species including Blue-throated Broadbill, bar-tailed Trogon and other beautiful forest species. You shall go to bed earlier this evening so that you are well rested for thrilling experience of gorilla tracking the next day.

Day 13 | Gorilla trekking experience.

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters where you will have an orientation and meet your guides for the day. Trekking the Mountain Gorilla is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The trek will take between 2 and 7 hours, but is well worth the effort. You will be led by an experienced ranger who will tell you interesting facts about flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. The trekking is a thrill and yet challenging as you hike through the forest  to the Gorillas and once you reach a gorilla family, you will have a chance to observe the family at close proximity for an hour. In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community and learn about their way of life and enjoy cultural dance performances.

Day 14 | Lake Mburo National Park.

Drive to Lake Mburo National Park. The Park forms a mosaic-like habitat with rocks, dry slopes, open and wooded savannas, forests, and swamps increases. This diversity of habitats has the diversity of bird life with 313 bird species recorded in the park, including flame head Barbet, Long-tailed Zitting Cisticola (Tabora), African Bins Rail, Collared Barbet, binding Bush singer among others. You will have a game drive as you enter the park such as Topis, impalas giraffes, elands waterbucks , buffalos and zebras.

Day 15 | Nature walk, Game drive, Entebbe.

You will get up early morning for a guided nature walk and game drive return to the hotel. Later, drive back to Kampala crossing the equator and later drive to Entebbe International Airport connect with your onward flight back home.
